If you would like to apply for one of our programs, you may download an application from this website (click here) or you may call the Sawyer County Housing Authority office at (715) 634-4280 and request an application be sent to you. You may also stop by the office and pick up an application.
After completing your application, you may mail, e-mail, fax, or drop off the application to our office. Once our office has received your application, your file will be reviewed and your name placed on the waiting lists of your choosing.
When your name nears the top of a waiting list, you will be contacted to schedule an interview to determine eligibility status. A notice will be sent to you with information you should bring to the interview. Remember, it is your responsibility to notify the office if you have a change of address.
What happens once you apply: we will review your application and send you a Notice of Preliminary eligibility or a Notice of Ineligibility. You will remain on the waiting list until your name is at the top. At that time we will perform a final screening in which we verify all income, assets and expenses as well as complete a credit check, reference check and criminal record/sex offender review. After application submission, all correspondence will be in writing and you must keep us updated of any address/information changes in that same manner.
